Spaghetti with Homemade Pesto

June 12, 2013 Karishma

Have some homemade pesto on hand? Then get ready to make your own gourmet creamy pesto sauce.

~20 spaghetti sticks
1/2 cup Basil-Walnut Pesto
1 tsp salt
1-2 tbsp heavy cream or Alfredo sauce

  1. Boil water in a large pot, add salt and cook the spaghetti per package directions. Be sure to not overcook the spaghetti. Before straining the spaghetti, reserve 2 tbsp pasta water for the sauce -- this helps thicken the sauce.
  2. Heat a medium size pan on medium-low heat, add the cooked spaghetti, pesto, heavy cream and the reserved pasta water. Mix well until well-incorporated -- this should only take about 1-2 minutes.
  3. Serve with grated or shaved parmesan cheese.
